![]() Or perhaps they just weren't that bothered about that aspect of it! Who knows.ĮDIT: I've just thought of another example. Or perhaps it's quite old and tv is more professional now. I wonder if it's the result of it's leap in popularity and longevity that couldn't have been predicted at the start (that's also charted by improvements in filming quality) - perhaps they never quite caught up with the success of it/didn't know how long it would last etc and struggled to really map it because of that. I still love it and I don't think it's a big problem and I don't think people are really watching peep show primarily for tight plotting and character development, I just thought it was interesting. To be honest, it's kind of defined this rewatch for me. I'm sorry I can't remember more off the top of my head, I'll add them if they come to me and I know there are other examples because I've seen specific inconsistencies mentioned before - I did a search for "continuity", "consistency", "consistencies" etc on this thread and couldn't find anything. I've found there's so many of these things that go beyond sort of whoopsies that might be issues with editing or shooting schedules or whatever and instead go fundamentally to the core of the whole story in lots of cases - characters disappear entirely, plot points change without even a casual word of explanation. But then a casual remark from Jeremy about how he'd like to do therapy suddenly causes Mark to offer to pay for Jeremy to have an intensive therapy course, and then when he doesn't attend Mark buys him a massive curry! Nothing that I can remember is ever mentioned changing on the money front. We've just had episodes and episodes of how poor Mark is financially - the "creamy elephant" repayments, the two for one kitchen tongs at Christmas, reading Wuthering Heights because he's poor and Jez is relatively "moneyed" etc. The other one that was really jarring recently was Jeremy Therapized. You might remember Mark has asked Robert at Baths, Bathrooms and fittings in a (the?) previous episode if he's fired for conning a customer and Robert says yes - the next episode he's working there, speaks to Robert etc and it's never explained why he's still there. Stupidly I've not written them down to this point so I can't list them without going back (maybe next rewatch!) but the one that's pushed me to post this is Series 8 Episode 5. It feels like virtually every episode there's been something that's made me go "eh?". I'm at season eight and I think I've watched it all in a shorter time span this time perhaps because the continuity seems really obvious this time and it is really bad. I've just been rewatching Peep Show for probably at least the tenth time since it was broadcast.
